Where do the time go.. I can't beleive 2008 is almost over. Christmas shopping is 95 % done and we're pretty well broke and hoping the holiday shopping season would be over already.
I remember the holidays being such a fun and exciting time when I was a kid. We enjoyed all the Xmas goodies, went from one Xmas party to the next, and enjoyed and endless supply of gifts just begging to be torn into. Ahhh, to be young again. Now that I'm responsible for baking, financing, and taxi-ing all these holidays they've lost a bit of their sparkle.
Scoots is only in preschool, but there's Xmas treats to make for school friends, candy for her teachers, and cinnamon buns for her playgroup friends. Something tells me this will not get easier when she hits kindergarten.
To Do List:
23 treats for school kids ( Peppermint bark Hearts or Chocolate covered Cherry Cookies )
5 pkgs. candy for teachers ( Popularity Cookies)
7 pans Cinnamon Rolls for our Playgroup Friends
200 or so chocolate truffles for Xmas eve gifts (recipe yet to be determined)
2 Dozen gingerbread cookies (I'm using a mix... no one likes these but me, and boxed is fine by me)
Soo, all that baking + wrapping + last minute stocking stuffer shopping + driving here, there, EVERYWHERE (and back) = headaches and crankiness
Thank GOD for Egg nog..

Oh Holly, just came upon your blog today from 2008. I remember you delivering those cinnamon rolls to us. It was so sweet and really made us feel loved. <3
It's a lot on our lists, isn't it? Our kids better have good memories for all of this work...haha
